Immigration Education & Awareness: ALMAS is committed to fostering meaningful community conversations that educate, raise awareness, and encourage open dialogue on critical immigration issues. Programs like “Beyond Borders: A Forum on New Arrivals and Asylum Seekers” provide a platform for leaders and experts to discuss the complex challenges faced by new arrivals and asylum seekers. These conversations promote actionable solutions, helping build a stronger, more inclusive community.
Community Support & Resource Access: Through events like “Stay Informed, Get Prepared: Your Rights and Resources for Immigration Challenges,” ALMAS provides the immigrant community with critical information on immigration rights. The event featured expert presentations, empowering participants to navigate ongoing challenges. The New Arrivals and Asylum Seekers Task Force compiled a directory of resources such as housing, legal aid, and language support, while combating misinformation and tracking local government commitments to immigrant assistance.
