ALMAS in Action

ALMAS in Action reflects our commitment to informed civic participation and community voice. Through educational programming, public engagement, and responsive initiatives, ALMAS supports residents in understanding public systems and participating meaningfully in civic life. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ALMAS conducts all activities in a nonpartisan manner. We do not endorse or oppose political candidates or parties. Our work focuses on issue education, community wellbeing, and equitable participation.

HIGHLIGHTS

Voting Engagement & Civic Education
Community conversations focused on voting rights, civic processes, and informed, nonpartisan participation.


Naperville Solidarity Network
A grassroots, neighbor-to-neighbor initiative promoting accurate information, communication, and peaceful civic engagement. Through this network, ALMAS provides:

  • Know Your Rights Trainings — Educational workshops offering culturally responsive information about individual rights and public systems.

  • Community Outreach & Canvassing — Volunteer-led outreach distributing resources and sharing information about local services and civic opportunities.

  • Community Presence & Protection — Trained, unarmed volunteers promoting safety through observation, de-escalation awareness, and supportive community presence.


Issue-Based Advocacy
Engagement on policies affecting community wellbeing through public comment, op-eds, civic forums, and peaceful public demonstrations. Our advocacy focuses on issues—not political parties or candidates.


Promoting Inclusivity & Heritage Recognition
Collaboration with the City of Naperville to formally recognize Hispanic Heritage Month and Immigrants Day.
